3.2 Delivery Partners — Order details and your store location are shared with assigned delivery partners to enable pickup and delivery.

DENDO does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

4. Data Security

DENDO employs industry-standard security measures to safeguard your personal information, including end-to-end encryption, secure and certified server infrastructure, strict role-based access controls, and periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.

While we implement robust protective measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is entirely infallible. DENDO cannot guarantee absolute security against all potential threats.

5. Permissions Used by This Application

The Dendo: Restaurant Partner app requests the following Android permissions to provide its core functionality:

5.1 INTERNET — Required to communicate with DENDO servers to send and receive order data, update store status, and sync menu information.

5.2 ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — Used to verify and display your store's geographic location to customers and to help assign the nearest available delivery partner.

5.3 BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_ADMIN / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT / BLUETOOTH_SCAN — Used to discover and communicate with Bluetooth-enabled thermal receipt printers, so vendors can print order tickets directly from the app when an order is accepted. No Bluetooth data is transmitted to DENDO servers; communication is strictly between the device and the paired printer.

5.4 FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC — Used to run the persistent order-listening service while the vendor's store is Open. The dataSync service type is used because the service continuously synchronises incoming order data from DENDO servers in real time. See Section 6 for the full disclosure required by Google Play's Foreground Services policy.

5.5 FOREGROUND_SERVICE_REMOTE_MESSAGING — Required by Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver high-priority data-only push notifications for new customer orders when the app is in the background or the device screen is off. When a new order FCM message arrives, this permission allows Firebase to wake the app's background handler, which stores the order data in local storage for the running foreground service to pick up on its next heartbeat. Without this permission, FCM order notifications may be delayed or dropped on Android 14+ devices, causing vendors to miss incoming orders.

6. Foreground Services — Full Disclosure

This section provides the complete disclosure required by Google Play's Foreground Services policy. The Dendo: Restaurant Partner app uses Android Foreground Services to ensure vendors never miss an incoming order while their store is open.

6.1 What is a Foreground Service?

A Foreground Service is an Android component that continues running while displaying a persistent, visible notification to the user. Unlike background services, foreground services are always visible to the user via the notification bar, giving them full awareness and control.

6.2 When the Foreground Service Starts (User-Initiated)

The foreground service is started exclusively by an explicit action taken by the vendor. It starts when:

  • The vendor opens the Dendo: Restaurant Partner app and their store status is set to Active / Open, or
  • The vendor manually taps the "Open" toggle on the Store Status screen to begin accepting orders.

The service is never started automatically without the vendor's knowledge or action. It is always a direct result of the vendor choosing to make their store available to customers.

6.3 What the Service Does (Purpose and Functionality)

The persistent order-listening foreground service uses the dataSync service type. While the vendor's store is Open, it runs a heartbeat every 5 seconds to check for new incoming orders stashed by Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notifications. When a new order is detected, the service triggers a high-priority sound alert and navigates the vendor directly to the order details screen. The service also keeps the vendor's order dashboard accurate in real time. No data is collected beyond what is necessary to display the current order queue to the vendor.

6.4 How the Service is Perceptible to the User

The foreground service is always visible to the vendor via a persistent notification in the Android notification drawer:

  • "Dendo Store is active — Listening for new orders"

This notification cannot be dismissed while the service is running. The vendor can tap it to return to the app at any time.

6.5 Impact of Service Interruption

If the foreground service is interrupted or stopped, the following material consequences occur:

  • Missed Orders: Incoming customer orders are not received, resulting in automatic cancellations after the acceptance window expires.
  • Customer Dissatisfaction: Missed orders lead to negative reviews and a reduced store rating on the DENDO platform.
  • Revenue Loss: Every missed order directly results in lost earnings for the vendor.
  • Inaccurate Store Status: The store may remain listed as "Open" to customers even though the vendor cannot receive orders.

6.6 How to Stop the Foreground Service

The vendor can stop the order-listening service at any time by:

  • Tapping "Close" or "Busy" on the Store Status screen inside the app.
  • Closing / force-stopping the app from the Android app switcher or app settings.
  • Tapping the persistent notification to open the app and setting the store status to Closed.

6.7 Data Handled by the Foreground Service

The foreground service does not collect any additional personal data beyond what is described in Section 1. It does not access the microphone, camera, contacts, or files. It does not track or transmit location data while running. It does not read or send SMS messages. All data exchanged between the service and DENDO servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

7. Your Rights as a User

As a vendor on the DENDO Platform, you are entitled to request access to your personal data held by us, rectify any inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of your account and associated data, and restrict specific categories of data processing.

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us at: support@dendo.store

8. Data Retention

DENDO retains your personal data for the duration your account remains active, or for as long as required to fulfil legal, tax, and business obligations. Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

9. Children's Privacy

DENDO's services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Should we become aware that such data has been inadvertently collected, it will be deleted without delay.

10. Third-Party Links

The DENDO application may contain links to external websites or platforms. DENDO assumes no responsibility for the privacy practices or content of such third-party sites and encourages users to review their respective privacy policies independently.

11. Amendments to This Policy

DENDO reserves the right to revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Users will be notified of material updates via in-app notifications, email communications, or official announcements.
